How to Help Our Society
For over 30 years, Tudor Hall has been home of the St. Mary's County Historical Society. The story behind the Society's ownership of this historic treasure is one of community cooperation and individual generosity so typical of Southern Maryland. Having served as the local library for 36 years, the library outgrew the space and moved to a new location. Tudor Hall's future was uncertain. Recognizing its historical and architectural significance in the early 1980s, the Historical Society stepped in and negotiated an agreement that brought together the Davidson heirs, the county government, a local lender, and many generous individuals in a plan to convey the property to the Society. For its part, the HIstorical Society agreed to preserve, renovate, and maintain the structure and make it available to the public.
To help the society maintain our goals and fulfill our missions please select one of our campaigns and help anyway you can. Just as our community came together in 1985, please consider joining with us today.
