Founded in 1951, the mission of the St. Mary’s County Historical Society is to bring into focus the people, places, and events that make St. Mary's County extraordinary. 

Through our collection of genealogical, historical, and archival material we give life to the stories of the County's people, places, and events. Our collections are available to members and the public. Research Associates assist with inquiries from tracing family histories to revealing the details about land, buildings, and historic events.
