A 2023 THANKSGIVING DAY SPECIAL

It Is Indeed a Happy Thanksgiving!

As we gather to celebrate Thanksgiving, we each have much to be thankful for. Though all of us are faced from time to time with struggle, disappointment, and challenge,
it is faith, family, and friends to whom we look and for whom we offer our thanks on this special day

At the Historical Society, we are filled with thankfulness this year for you, our members and friends, who so generously supported the 2023 Annual Appeal

We started the Appeal with a goal of $25,000 to fund the position of Archivist; it officially closes at the end of this month. The results this Thanksgiving morning:

$42,000
Or a whopping 40% over goal!

That amount a
verages $306 per donation. We are humbled. Never has the Historical Society enjoyed such support and generosity through an Annual Appeal.

The Board, Staff, and Volunteers together extend a deep and sincere Thank You to each of you who gave so willingly and selflessly.

Before the Base - Video is Live on our Website

Eve Love's presentation of Cedar Point before the arrival of the Patuxent Naval Air Station was well-received at the Fall Dinner. A video of her presentation, with improved audio, is now at our website. Simply go to the Videos page on our website or, better still, just click this link.

Now, go enjoy friends, family, and some turkey!
